Hi Everyone,
I know there have been a lot of questions about when the course is going to be closed due to these events, and for how long. After working with SFRPD and Another Planet staff for the past week, we’ve got some answers for you all!
As has been the case for the past few years, SFRPD have asked the club to work directly with the event staff on a detailed plan for providing as much access to the course as possible. The highlights are above but please keep reading if you are intending on playing during the impacted time period.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When the course is NOT CLOSED during this time period, there will be significant impacts due to the fencing installed for these events. This is NOT the ideal time to come to the city to play Golden Gate Park for the first time. It would be a MUCH better experience if you were to come out after this is all over.
Map
This map provides important dates and detailed impact information. Please have it handy if you are going to play the course during the impacted time period. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lxvgAjY5XKaIuY0vHQaEf2fOw8uQ7-ex/view?usp=drive_link
Parking
JFK DRIVE AND TRANSVERSE DRIVE WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE IMPACTED DATES! Park on Fulton or in the adjacent neighborhoods on the north side of the course.

Fencing Overview
As was the case in the past, the entire course will be fenced in for much of the impacted time period. In addition to perimeter fencing, there will be fencing ON the course between Holes 1 & 2, Holes 9 & 1, and across Holes 15 & 16. These fences will have openings so that those playing can move from one hole to the next, indicated by the blue arrows on map.
In addition, fencing along Hole 3, Hole 5, and 15 / 16 will have openings to allow for disc retrieval, indicated by magenta ovals on the map.
Course Access
Given the street closures mentioned above, there will only be two entrances / exits for the duration of the impacted time period! These locations are indicated by green arrows on the map:
- Behind Hole 3’s tee near Fulton St
- At 13’s tee along Crossover Drive
Impacted Holes and Back 9 Routing
All holes EXCEPT 10 & 11 are planned to be accessible on days the course is not fully closed. Routing will go as follows:
- Play Holes 1-9
- Exit the course at Tee 3
- Take the path along Crossover Drive to the entrance at Tee 13
- Play the “Back 7” in the following order: 13, 14, 17, 18, 15, 16, 12
- Exit the course at Tee 13
If you choose to play during this time period:
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, be respectful to the operations and security staff who may not have received the memo. If there are any issues, please kindly let them know that the following event staff are aware of and in support of this plan:
- Director of Site Operations: Jose Montano
- Marx Meadow Manager: Matt Bowen
- Fencing Leads: EJ Hauger and Jenny Bartlett
Please spread the word!
