The SFDGC 2010 Bag Tag Challenge will held on Sunday Jan. 10Th.
In order to play the BTC you must first renew or become
a Member of the Club. So don’t forget your $40.
Of course by becoming a member you will receive discounts on
Club discs plus the funds raised will help to maintain the Marx Meadow
course and help with building a New course in McLaren Park.
Registration will be 8AM - 10:30AM at Marx Meadow.
Once you have registered and have received your scorecard,
get into a group of 4 and go play.
We will be counting Birdies, Bogies and maybe Penalties to
calculate scores to reduce playoffs. So mark your “P’s”.
If for some reason the rounds play quickly will have a CTP for tie breakers.
Don’t forget the BBQ after wards as well.
BEER will be provided by Anderson Brewing Company.
Once we have calculated the scores we will give out the New Bag Tags!
***We are in need of a little help still.***
Can anyone provide some BBQ’s to grill on?
The more the merrier so we can get the food out quicker.
Please reply back to me if you can bring one.
So come on out for the BTC. Renew your membership. Play a good round of Golf. Hang out with your fellow Disc Club members and go home with a New Bag Tag!
If you are unable to make the BTC, Bag Tags will be available by signing up for membership on the SFDGC website. This will be activated on Jan 11th. Tags will also be available if someone is selling Discs at the course after Jan.10th.
See you there!

We will be having a course work party on this Saturday, Feb. 7th. The work party will start around 8am and go till we run out of steam. You can show up any time during the day to lend a hand.
We will be closing different holes throughout the day as we work on them. If you are a new member or have not come out to a work party before, this is a great way to meet other club members and give something back to the Disc Golf community in San Francisco. Remember, the course is maintained completely through volunteer efforts, so we need everyone who can to come out and lend a hand.

Due to the Outside Lands Music Festival this weekend, the Golden Gate Park Disc Golf course will be closed Thursday - Tuesday. The city has agreed to transport and stow the baskets from the course during the festival, but we will need help getting all the baskets to Marx Meadow on Thursday afternoon and returned to the course on Tuesday morning. If you are able to hep out Thursday at 1pm, please show up ready to lend a hand. If we can get 4 or 5 people, this should only take around an hour.

Those of us who will be around this weekend will do some routine maintenance on the course. Specifically we’ll be doing some chipping, watering, and hopefully some terracing to prevent erosion on some of the holes. It would be nice to put up and repair a could of the tee screens. Please come and volunteer your time. If you have tools please bring them. As always, part or all of the course will be closed during the work party.

Just wanted to give an update on the 2008 Safari.
The dates are finalized and will be August 9th & 10th. We were denied our permit for a full 18 hole safari course this year, and thus are trying to work out the details on exactly how many golfers we can host on the permanent 18 hole Golden Gate course. We are working out the final detail and should have registration info up in the next few weeks.
Stay tuned……
