Club Update I.VIII.MMHappy new year! Q spent new year's day up in South Lake Tahoe, playing Bijou with Steve Newell and his great group of guys from Tahoe Turning Point. With McDonald's milkshakes on the line, the team of Michael, AJ, Adam and Q put a 5-stroke whoopin' on Mark, Robert, JR and Steve in a rousing round of team best disc. About midway through the round it started to snow, so we cut it short, and only played 21 holes, but it was a blast! The guys from Turning Point all played well, and if it was up to Q, they'd all get milkshakes. In other club news, we have yet to elect a secretary to fill the void left by Dan "Edo" Warburton's resignation. At the last meeting Edo trained Jacques on the mysterious inner workings of the Secretary's Notebook, and it even looked as if Jacques were gonna take some notes at the next meeting. Check back for more details. SF Course ProposalAs Gary Gnu used to say, "No gnus is good gnus," and bascially that's what we've got. We are still proposing a course in Golden Gate Park, and we are currently awaiting our chance to make our presentation to the Commission of Recreation and Parks. Keep sending in those letters of support, and we'll be sure to keep you posted of any developments. Keep your fingers crossed (or whatever you do for luck) and we'll keep plugging away! |
