2.12.98: Mc Laren Park Proposal

We are in the process of determining what steps we will take next with regards to McLaren Park. Many of the neighbors felt that we were trying to railroad the proposal down their throats, behind their backs, or under their radar. While we feel that we did a lot of work getting to know members of the community groups who have a vested interest in McLaren Park (The Friends of McLaren comes to mind), we also realize that there are a lot of people who choose not to participate in those groups, but whose input is still absolutely needed. We would like to thank all of the people who offered us their support, either via a letter, or by coming out to the various community meetings. We could not have gotten this proposal as far as it has without the support of each and every one of you.

All told, we have a lot of relationships to mend, and misinformation to set straight. We also have to give ourselves a lot of credit for bringing disc golf to the public eye in San Francisco so quickly and managing to get as far along in the proposal process as we have.

Remember, one year ago disc golf in San Francisco consisted of a bunch of individual disc golfers, wishing for a course to play on. Now we have a group of organized disc golfers, wishing for a course to play on.
