Thursday, November 6: Mc Laren Park Clean-Up

The Friends of Mc Laren Park are sponsoring a clean up of the park this Saturday, 8 November. The San Francisco Disc Golf Club is going to be there picking up trash, making friends out of friends, and dreaming of approval for a certain proposal. If you would like to get a look at the proposed land for the course, and would like to help us make a really good impression on a very important group of individuals, please mail Ross Hammond for directions and start time.

Ouch!:

Well, you know it is pretty bad when your buddy from Tahoe calls you to tell you about the disc golfers from SF he met on his course who said, "Yeah, we have seen the SFDGC site, but it never gets updated!"

All I can say is, if you do not email me to tell me, I do not know that I slack. And, "D'oh!"

Consider this an update?...

Nor Cal Championships

I went up and shot the Novato course last Sunday with Shawn Sinclair, Fontaine and Brian Henderson (plus some cool Sonoma folks whose names elude me) and one thing I can say about the championships this weekend is, it is going to be fun! And long. If you bring any disc this weekend, bring your long straight driver. In fact, that might be the only disc you use on the "hill course."

Tournament Formatting

The individual championships are going to take place on Saturday, 8 November, and the Doubles and Skins are going to take place on Sunday. If you have not registered yet, do not worry, just get to Novato early on Saturday morning , as Ruzicka only has 6 Advanced players signed up as of this writing.

Saturday:

The Advanced pool is going to have a players' meeting at about 8:00am on Saturday morning, and then head up to shoot the "Hill Course." The Hill Course is comprised of the regular #6-26 of the Stafford course, and should take about 3.5 hours to play.

The Pros are going to have their meeting a "little later" in the morning, probably around 8:30am, but I would call Ruzicka or Sinclair to ask before I showed up late on my account. In other words, I could be wrong, but the Pros are going to meet at 8:30am, and then proceed to shoot the "Flat Course," comprised of #1-5 of the regular course, and an additional 15 holes on the flatland around the lake.

By the time the Advanced players are done with the Hill Course, the Pros should have finished their lunch break, and be ready to head on out. The advanced players will then get a lunch break, and play the Flat Course.

Sunday:

27 Hole Doubles Tournament in the morning, Skins round in the afternoon. Only the top 12 players in Advanced and Pro Point Standings are invited to play, although anyone can watch (read: I'll see you in the Gallery).
