San Francisco Disc Golf Club Events
The San Francisco Disc Golf Club has numerous weekly, monthly, and special events and tournaments, and encourages members and non-members alike to participate and join the active San Francisco Disc Golf community.
We hold regular meetings and have scheduled (or emergency) work parties to maintain the Golden Gate Park Course. The SFDGC greatly appreciates the thousands of hours of volunteer work that have made disc golf in San Francisco possible.
Maintenance and Cleanup Days
The SFDGC constructed the new course using volunteer labor and donations, and continues to play an integral part in the ongoing maintenance of our world-class 18 hole course in Golden Gate Park. While we strongly encourage the "pack your trash" mentality on a daily basis, we also recognize the need for occasional dedicated cleanup and maintenance work parties. In general these work parties will become a news headline via our blog (the right panel), and will be discussed and allow visitor contributions via our forum's Course Maintenance section. You may also wish to contact club officials to join our Course Maintenance committee headed by Les Swift.
Weekly Handicapped and Informal Doubles Tournaments
The San Francisco Disc Golf Club has recently established a Tournament committee which is headed by Scott Snyder and Rob Byers. We have a weekly handicapped tournament every Sunday starting between 8:30 and 10am. We also have an informal doubles tournament each Tuesday night at 5:30pm. In addition the SFDGC will commonly hold special tournaments such as the annual San Francisco Safari. The best place to go for information about our tournaments is the League Play section of our forum.
C lub Meetings
The San Francisco Disc Golf club holds official meetings from time to time as needed. The time and location will often change but is generally held very near the course if not at the course itself. This is a great place to get together with fellow club members and discuss club business and how to keep our course being one of the best out there. Our news headlines blog (the right panel) will keep visitors abreast of upcoming meetings. In addition, we encourage visitors to check out the forum's Club Events forum. For more information about our club meetings, contact the club President, Jeffery Bowling. If you can't make a meeting, we will generally post meeting minutes via our blog and forum shortly after they are held.
