A few quick messages from your buddies in Santa Cruz:
1) Thanks so much to all the members of the San Francisco Disc Golf Club for all they have been doing to help us organize 2011 Pro Worlds in Monterey Bay. We're extremely grateful for the financial support and sponsorships, the wonderful video and other work of your talented club members, and numerous other contributions that all your club members have been doing to help us out. It is great to see the entire region of disc golfers coming together to make this a truly epic Worlds.
2) We need more volunteers! If you're not playing in 2011 Pro Worlds, then you should still consider coming and being a part of this historic occasion for the sport of disc golf in California: our very own World Championship. There is no precedent for the scope of this Pro Worlds, the first to ever completely sell out as well as the first to have a total purse that exceeds $100K. The best players in the world are converging on four of the most epic courses in the United States. Plus, the volunteer package is phenomenal. Sign up by going to http://www.2011proworlds.com/volunteers/ and click "Join Us!"
3) Tee sign sponsorships ($250) are still available on each course. Our staff have designed tee signs printed on metallic paper, and these will be framed and given to sponsors after the tournament to hang on the wall. Its a critical time for us to try and get as many hole sponsorships as possible, since we'll need to get them organized and printed very soon. To sign up as a sponsor, please visit http://www.2011proworlds.com/sponsors/ to sign up!
4) Come down and get a 2011 Pro Worlds course preview before the crowds arrive (they'll descend on our courses during the 1st week of August, to practice). All 4 courses (DeLaveaga, Pinto Lake, CSUMB, and Ryan Ranch) are already set up in Worlds layout. Many holes have been changed, so before you go, be sure to print out the official maps from the course pages at http://www.2011proworlds.com/courses/ (use "fit to page" option when printing).
*Exceptions: 1) Pinto Lake has an extra 8 holes that play through otherwise busy soccer fields, and won't be set up until just before Worlds. 2) The basket for hole 27 at CSUMB will be installed on Saturday 6 August.
