with club stalwarts Patrick Wood and Les Swift leading in advanced and am masters respectively while Todd Kurnat and Steve Archuleta are in the top-10 in advanced and intermediate respectively. One of my dreams back in '97 when we started the effort to bring disc golf to San Francisco was to have homegrown golfers competing with the best in Norcal. I dare say we have arrived!

Wow! What a weekend for SFDGC Golfers! Down at DeLa, P Wood just running away with the Advanced Division win and Les Swift--taking the AM by 2 strokes, Steve "Idol" Archulata coming second in Intermediate, too----and TK with some hellacious golf---plus great showings by other SFGDC'ers....

AND! With PB playing "out of body" to take the extremely strong second in sudden death OT to just miss winning the whole Masters tourney in GA ...that's a pretty damned impressive showing by our excellent club players.

Way to go, gentlemen. Bring it on home.

We are certainly a force to be reckon with.

I'm glad you all stepped up and overshadowed my "contribution" on behalf of SFDGC. Yes, I came in last place in Am 2 (except for the two guys who didn't have the balls to compete to the end). I cut my finger open in a freak accident less than an hour before Saturday's round and almost DNF'd myself, but Anne Farrell stepped up and helped me get it wrapped up enough to at least stop bleeding everywhere. Thanks, Anne! Even with the bandaged finger I improved on my first round a little bit — but then Sunday threw a whole new batch of suck at me, and well... blargh.

You couldn't have asked for a more beautiful weekend, though, on an incredible course. And mark my words — next year, I'll place at least in the top 10 or I'll buy a keg for the club.
