Moraga DGC EMERGENCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Moraga course is in serious jeopardy of losing 2 or more holes.
The city is considering expanding the bocce courts and eliminating holes one five and nine for certain unless;

If the disc golf community does not show up at Wed's night's Moraga town meeting.
We need as many golfer as possible.
If this course closes or is ruined it will impact all the other courses by sending more golfers their way. We need more not less courses.
Moraga is a pretty fun nine hole and should be expanded not limited and shortened.
If you can be at Moraga town hall on 2/17 at 6:30 PM please go.
Take Donald drive off Moraga rd (across from 7-11) 100yds up rd on left, white brick entry reads; Hacienda Moraga City Offices.

Please take this seriously and try to show up at the council meeting. There has been a lot of hard work and improvements done to this course, only to see the course possibly taken away from us. We need a full showing of anyone interested in keeping or expanding disc golf in the bay area. The meeting is tomorrow (Wednesday) evening February 17. We need as many bodies as possible to show up in Moraga and let the city know how valued disc golf and this course are to the community. Please pass the word around.

Try to get them to allow a petition of some kind for those that cannot make the meeting in person. I used to play Moraga a lot and would hate to see this happen, but I cannot make this meeting in person as I live in the peninsula and have to work and can't get over there on short notice like this. They should allow feedback from people that cannot make the meeting in person, also.

Apparently there is no meeting tonight. I got bad intel.
It may be rescheduled on Feb 24th.

Whaaat? That blows goats. don't they see that hundreds of people play that course all the time? Bocce could easily fit into the area they have and not have to take holes off that course

Yes the Moraga course was getting steady play all last summer and fall; I have not been back since the rain started (Mud). There were steady players, new players, familys; the usual folks you see at any well established course. Not only is it a pretty good 9 hole it has regular traffic.
If Moraga gets limited all the other local courses will feel the impact.
Man there is so much open space in ECC County; we should start scouting out some new places for new courses.

I've always thought that the Lafayette reservoir would be a perfect place for a course. You'd have to deal with EBMUD...but perhaps they could be convinced.

Some one from the East Bay should start bugging SF Public Utilities Commission. The one time I contacted them about the Peninsula he mention them having 100,000 aces ( a lot of it wooded) in the east bay with water tunnels underneath that can't be developed. I didn't have time to keep persuing that angle since we got SM county about to let us build. I don't have a contact but I sent the first email to the land use dept.

By the general tone, I'd guess that while a hole or two might move, there's nobody out to trim an already-small disc golf course into something even smaller. It's already half a full course, and it would be ridiculous to have an 8 hole disc golf course ANYWHERE and would reflect poorly.

I like disc golf, and have played plenty of bocce ball also. They're both really fun and great for a community park setting.

Here's my take:

• They've allowed half a disc golf course there
• They have 2 full bocce ball courts already
• Bocce ball courts don't take up much space, and there's really plenty of space in that park without killing any disc golf holes

Therefore, here's my recommendation:
Cut the two bocce ball courts in half, making "4 bocce ball courts".

That way both sports can exist and everyone gets to play on half a cour(t/se)
