Irrigation on Hole 12 is in

Big thanks to Mark Rozansky, Les Swift, Jon Toby and Pat Walsh who came out today and put in the irrigation on hole 12. We still have a bit more staking to do but its basically done. Looking forward to those wax myrtles leaping into the sky and grabbing your discs.

Please tell your fellow golfers to be careful while walking through that area chasing errant throws!

Hey guys,

An important note on the 'drip system' on #12:

The system pressure needs to be reduced at the spigot with the regulator found in the box; I found the tube connected directly this morning and this may cause a blowout of the system and more pressure on the soils to increase the erosion problem.
Ross has also noted that the watering needs to be done once a week and for a period of about 4-6 hours at a stretch. We may need to keep a log at the box or on the forum to avoid over-watering.

I still think we get a timer for this. They cost like $25 and most people won't even know that it's there.

I spent a couple of hours weeding each and every wax myrtle yesterday. They really needed it, as some were getting choked. That's something that will probably always be a problem on that hillside until we go ahead and do something radically different there. Props to Brown who weeded the upper hillside so that people could find their discs a little easier.

At our annual meeting a few weeks ago Lizzie from Purple Skunk agreed to come once a week and connect the drip line. Les and Scott are going to show her how. If this falls apart then we can consider a timer but then we'd have to build some sort of box around it -- it's not the timer thieves want it's the copper piping that is attached to it. And that hardware is worth a (relative) lot of money. Thanks for stepping up and weeding -- now that the plants are getting regular water this will be need to be done more often. That is a good sign!

word. It would be great if we could get chips down by the end of the meadow (maybe right by 16 BTC position). Then we could mulch the plants which would keep the weeds down around them, as well as chip 11-12 efficiently.
