Postby BeckyT » Tue Mar 18, 2008 10:02 am

Hi all-

I wanted to start a thread to encourage team spirit at norcal tournaments and create a place to give props and brag about SF players preformance.

I'll start it off:

CA State Am Championship (St. Patricks Classic, Orangevale)

Taking ADV MEN'S by 1 stroke:  Patrick Brown
I heard you stole it on the last hole, is that correct?

Cashing in Master's:  Les Swift
Way to cash Les!!

Coming in third in ADV WOMEN'S:  Yours truly
Ya me!

Post em if you got em!

Some updates:

Master's Cup Pro:
Patrick Brown placed 17th...was this your Pro debut??
Jeff Faes placed 43rd
Jeff Fielder placed 13th in Masters
Scott Riley took 15th in Masters
Pete Sontag came in 21st in Masters
Matt Kelly placed 23rd in Masters
Hunt Hyde came in 8th in Grandmasters

Auburn Am:
Tim Itnner took second place

Tim is currently tearing up the midwest NT stops.  He placed well (results not listed now??) in the First Class Challenge (Des Moines, IA) and 7th in the Minnesota Majestic.  Tim was the only ADV to throw a 1000+ rated round.  I'm pretty sure he sealed the deal on an invite to AM Nationals in MN.  Ya Tim, way to represent!!

Please let me know if I left you off this list.  If you go by a different name at the course I have probably overlooked you.  I'm also terrible with names.

Our boys are kicking some a$$ at Am Nats this weekend!!!

Timmay is 3 strokes behind the lead and PB is 4 strokes back after the first round.  If you're reading this visualize our boys hitting bird after bird.

Hope you guys are having fun!

Steady Ed/Lakeport:

Jeff Faes took last cash in Open.

Todd Kurnat took last cash in Intermediate.

This tournament pulled the third largest women's divisions in norcal history!!! A HUGE thanks to Anne for sponsoring all of the women.  15 women played in Advanced and 13 women played in Recreational.  It was awesome to play with so many women.  The competition in ADV was tight with everyone pushing each other to the very end :)

what's the word out of the USADGC? The top two finishers had actually taken money as pros? Don't sound like am's to me. I guess I'll have to get the word straight from those guys later this evening at doubles.

Here's a good pic of Patrick:

Congrats on the strong showing Patrick, Mike, and Timmy!
