Planning Meeting for SF Safari Disc Golf Tournament

The SF Disc Golf Club will be hosting a planning meeting for the San Francisco Safari Disc Golf Tournament next Thursday (June 21), at 7pm at the "Eagles Drift In Lounge", 1232 Noriega St.  (at 19th Avenue).

The Safari will take place this year on August 18th and 19th.

We're looking for volunteers to help in the areas of registration, course preparation and logistics, disc ordering and sales. If you cannot make next Thursday but are interested in helping out please let us know.

we are talking to the Norcal schedulers about possibly having it the weekend before (i.e. August 11th and 12th)

I just spoke with Permits & Reservations -- they said the group organizing the summer of love festival still has not gotten in its deposit and she gives them about a 10% chance of doing so. even if they do manage to pull it off, she estimates it will be about the same size as the alice festival which took place this past weekend i.e. about 5-10,000 people. the only other weekend available to us on the norcal calendar is the preceding week (aug. 11-12) and elk glen (where we normally have tournament central) is booked for the 11th. So, to make a short story long, we're going to stick with the original dates (i.e. Aug. 18th&19th).
