Two weeks ago Bradley King and Sean Scruby played the weekly as a twosome, which is one below the minimum of three players in a group. Whether or not this rule was well-posted or well-known, they went and played their round together and wouldn't you know it: Sean hit an ace on 11. After discussion about whether to pay the ace in this circumstance, we (club members who work on the weekly) have decided to pay the man. Bradley and Sean are not the types of guys who would conspire to cheat the club, much less so for just $113.

In the future, aces will not be paid to anyone unless they play in a group of three or more. Thanks for your understanding---

That is a PDGA tournament rule, to have no less than three in a group. What other PDGA rules do we ignore in weeklies? People starting on hole 10? I see a lot of people flip their disc over on the ground and this has been eliminated years ago in the rules. You either leave the disc there or mark it with a mini. The only rule I see that is acceptable to overlook is holing out. I pick up gimmies and I think this is OK to keep up the pace of play.
