Anyone else almost burn lately?

Here's what I watched from the balcony while sipping a beer on Monday after work:

This was interesting, we went to play De La on Sunday this last weekend, and apparently the course had been closed due to fire danger from Friday through that moment. (normally I check the site for tournament closures but didn't this time, it probably mentioned it was closed on their site).

But when we got there, the ranger who was guarding the lot and turning folks away all weekend, told us that within 5 minutes she'd get a call to go on home and open her up again.

So, we waited, and finally realized the dream of having De La to ourselves for the day. (well, for about 20 minutes, but we led the pack all day)
