Still hoping to see some DG on TV

Postby Disc Golf Live » Tue Jan 08, 2008 7:54 am

Just a reminder that I'm hoping to find a SF resident interested in submitting my show for broadcast on your community tv station.  If there is a club member or DGer in the city who wants to promote the game on a grand scale for not too much effort, get in touch with me.  Meanwhile, here's the poop on the latest developments...

The 21st episode of Disc Golf Live video magazine will be in the hands of our broadcast partners and home viewers shortly. This episode is 100% DGL-produced material and offers some great action from around the disc golf community.

We call this show "Don't Be Last" in light of our piece on the unique USDGC qualifying race in '07, which came down to a battle between four players for three spots, just to get into the tournament. We'll continue our series on Worlds 2008 courses, with a tour around a course called Oshtemo, just outside of Kalamazoo, Michigan. And from another part of Michigan, we'll take a look back at some action from the Pro side of the field at last summer's Great Lakes Open. Thanks to Innova, Discraft, and the PDGA for supporting Disc Golf Live video magazine.

DGL program DVDs are always free to folks facilitating broadcast on their local community access station. We also offer a Home version for individuals and wholesale prices to TDs, Clubs, Retailers, and other disc golf stakeholders.

Best regards,

Joe

There's been a bit of hopeful progress in this front, but nothing definite to report.  I'll post more as news develops.

The next episode, #22 due out in a month or so, should include a Masters Cup piece to help add some Cali flavor to the mix.

Best regards to all.

A little something from the most recent episode.  Thanks to Derek Kotval for his submission and to DGA for their support of Disc Golf Live:

There are several other snippets of DGL action plus a PDGA calendar at my youtube channel:

Still hoping there's a disc golfer in SF willing to put in a little off-course effort to support DG in the area. My program DVDs would be provided for free to a local resident who wants to submit the show for broadcast on the SF public access station. No success so far. It can't happen without a local resident.

For folks in other cities with community or public access TV, happy to send broadcast DVDs your way as well. Contact your station, find out what it takes to submit a program, then give me a shout.

The most recent show includes another of Derek Kotval's most excellent pieces, this one on the '08 Master's Cup.

Best regards,

Joe
