Trade/Sell Your New and Used Discs (Swap Meet at the Meadow)

Who's open to the idea of having a disc swap meet at the Meadow monthly?  

A portion of the proceeds could go towards the club for the up coming McClaren course.

We could each rent a space and share discs we don't, won't or can't throw with each other.   And, of course snacks, beverages and an occasional safety meeting here and there would make things even more fun.

Just a thought...

"Baby Got Back" is by Sir Mix-A-Lot, off  of his 1992 album "Mack Daddy" - by the time Mix was knocking down the doors of Mtv with his big-booty shout-out, Luke Skywalker and Crew's "Me So Horny" had been played out for years.

Lots of good stuff on that album, it's a classic. Should be noted that he gets through the whole album without once referring to women as "ho's".

Swap meet sounds fine by me, as long as you know your discs better than you know your classic rap. (insert emoticon of choice here)

I think it will be most successful if we can get loads of people who have discs from all over to show up and swap. Should you aim to make it huge on the first try? Probably not. Let's see who else gets into this and hops on board. I'm no good for most weekends, so don't take my date requests into account.

I've still got some Star Wraiths I'd love to get rid of, though...

I agree that starting small and building would lead to greater overall success.

What if we had 2 swap meets a month:

Sunday after League play from 10:30 to 2:30 or so
Tues before Doubles say from 4:30 to 5:45?

Would it be more feasible to rent out a 5x5 space for only   $5.00 or
people donate a $.50 or a $1.00 of every disc sold to the club for continued growth of disc golf locally?

I firmly believe this is an excellent opportunity to create additional funds for needed items such as discs and portable baskets for school programs.

It's been my experience that people value events more when there's an investment required for participation.  More people take an active part and a greater sense of community is developed too.

Besides, almost everyone can afford to donate $5.00 for space or $.50 or a $1.00 for each disc sold to ongoing club community outreach programs right?
