I actually had a face to face meeting with the San Mateo County parks director. We talked about disc golf and what it takes to install a course and maintain it. We talked about Pescadero and Juniper Serra. I have to say that it's staring to look real promising. In 2 weeks he's going to walk thru GGP with me to see what a course looks like and how it's played. We're then going to walk thru JS park and show him the layout for 18 holes. That's right 18 not 9.
And then we'll look at getting a course built. He didn't say a definate yes but it's starting to look that way. He wants to put the JS park in first, see what happens, then talk about getting Pescadero. He's also going to make a list of other parks in the county that we could potentially use.
JS park charges 5 dollars to park. If they average 50 dollars a day on a weekday just because of the course he feels it might be worth it.
I'll keep everyone posted.
